Plantable Swing Tags
Normal swing tags get snipped off and binned. A seed paper swing tag has a whole second life.
We print every tag on our handmade 280GSM seed paper, made at our UK paper mill from 100% recycled post-consumer materials.
Every tag arrives hole-punched with a 20cm length of natural twine, ready to tie straight onto a garment, a candle jar or a gift bag.
The card is thick enough to hang properly, and it carries your logo, your care instructions or a short thank-you.
Great for brands that want their packaging to match their values, like sustainable fashion labels, candle and soap makers, ceramicists, florists, farm shops and gift retailers.
Need something a custom size swing tag? We can cut swing tags in a wide range of sizes to match your brand. Get in touch through our online form, and we will quote a custom size, shape or colour.
Which Flowers Are Embedded In My Swing Tags?
Every tag is full of a native British wildflower mix of twelve seed species, chosen to help bees, butterflies and other pollinators:
- Birdsfoot Trefoil
- Black Knapweed
- Black Medik
- Common Veitch
- Meadow Buttercup
- Musk Mallow
- Ox-Eye Daisy
- Red Campion
- Salad Burnet
- Self Heal
- White Campion
- Yarrow
We also add some native grass seed for a proper British meadow mix rather than a generic seed blend, so what comes up represents the real British countryside.
How To Plant & Grow Your Seed Paper Swing Tags
Add a short “plant me” line to the back of your tag so customers know what to do with it.
Something as simple as “Plant this tag and grow wildflowers” is enough.
- Remove the twine from the tag.
- Tear the tag into small pieces.
- Soak the pieces briefly in water.
- Plant about 1/4 inch deep in soil, a pot or straight in the ground.
- Plant in March or September for the best results.
- Keep the soil moist and water daily.
- Put it somewhere sunny.
- Expect sprouts in 10 to 14 days. Some wildflowers will not bloom until the following year, so leave the spot undisturbed.
How Should I Design My Artwork?
Upload a print-ready PDF at the finished size of 85 x 55 mm with 3mm bleed on every edge. Keep your logo, text and any prices safely inside the trim line so nothing important sits near the cut.
Not much of a designer? Design your tag in Canva (using a template), send us a share link, and we will prep the file for print.
Not sure your file is ready? Run it through our free artwork check before you upload, and we’ll tell you what needs changing.
Leaving Room For The Hole
Every tag has a 6mm hole for the twine, punched either centred at the top or in the corner.
Centred gives a classic, symmetrical tag, while a corner hole lets the tag hang at an angle and leaves more of the card clear for your logo.
Add a note at checkout telling us where you would like the hole drilled.
Whichever you pick, keep text and logos at least 5mm away from the hole on both sides of your design, so nothing gets punched through or hidden by the twine.
Single Or Double-Sided
Most brands put the logo on the front and use the back for something useful: care instructions, a short brand story, a thank-you, or the “plant me” line.
Printing both sides costs a little more but makes the tag work much harder.
Colours On Seed Paper
Our paper is uncoated and textured, so colours print softer than they do on a pure white screen.
That suits natural, earthy brands beautifully, but it is worth knowing if your brand colour is a very specific shade.
Keep ink coverage under 40% for the best finish. Small text and fine lines should be bold enough to survive the texture, so avoid anything thinner than about 7pt.
Adding A QR Code
Use a high-contrast QR code at least 20 x 20 mm with clear space around it.
On a small tag that takes up a fair bit of room, so it usually works best on the back. We will check that every code scans before your tags go to print.
Samples And Proofs
Order a seed paper sample before you commit so you can feel the paper and see how it takes ink.
We also offer a digital proofing service. Simply add a note at checkout, and we’ll send you a photo of your artwork printed on seed paper before we begin the full job.
Printing & Delivery
Your four working days start once we have received artwork we can print from, not the day you order. That covers both printing and delivery.
Every order is sent tracked with Royal Mail, so you will get a tracking link and number when it’s dispatched.
Launching a product or stocking up for a market or event? Get in touch before you order, and we can confirm we will hit your date.
